The Telecommunications Department at Haywood Regional Medical Center plays a vital role in hospital communications by professionally managing all incoming and internal calls, overhead paging, and emergency code alerts. Our operators serve as the communication hub of the facility, ensuring timely and accurate information flow across departments 24/7. Weare dedicated to providingclear, calm, and efficient service to support patient care and hospital operations.
*How you’ll contribute *
ATelecommunications Operator/Dispatcher**who excels in this role:
* Directs all telephone inquiries to the appropriate area or person while maintaining strict confidentiality for all patient information.
* Makes all announcements, such as drills and/or disasters, paging of authorized personnel and relaying of messages.
* Monitors emergency alarms and notifies responsible parties when required.
* Operates a variety of communication equipment to include radio consoles, telephones and computer systems.

*What we’re looking for*
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:
* One year of experience in telecommunications systems and general office practices preferred.
* Required critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
