Job Summary
Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.
Reports to: Director of Emergency Services
FLSA: Non-exempt

• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.• Compliance to the STRHS – Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required.• Displays proven servant leadership attributes with co-workers and colleagues, customers, physicians, and employees.• Represents the facility in community activities in a positive and professional manner.
Essential Functions
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient’s history from available sources. Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation.
Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives from supervising Physician or Registered Nurse.
Administers medication within scope of practice
Performs and assist with procedures within scope of practice
Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly.
Job Requirements
Minimum EducationParamedic Technical Certification or Associates Degree – Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Certifications:BLS certification may be obtained within first week of orientation before patient care.ACLS and PALS certification from approved American Heart Association training center required within 6 months of employmentLicenses: State of Tennessee Paramedic licensure – Required
Minimum Work ExperienceExperience in emergency services related field – Preferred
