Job Summary
Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.
Essential Functions
Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Minimum EducationX High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) (BLS may be obtained week one of orientation before starting in department)
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
