Job Summary
The athletic trainer is the liaison between the patient and/or parents, the medical doctors or their support staffs, the medical assistant, athletes, coaches and contracted outreach community. Prevention of Athletic Injuries: Design and Implement Prevention programs. Job Knowledge: Understanding of job duties, know how in performing assigned tasks. Ambition/Initiative: Willingness to put forth effort in starting an activity, contribute to new ideas or seek improvement. This position is based directly with Lawrence County High School (LCHS).
Reports to: Director of Physician Services
FLSA: Non-exempt
Essential Functions
Prepares athletes for practice or competition.
Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary. Maintains a medical file on each athlete and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.
Develops conditioning programs for injured and noninjured athletes.

Perform other duties as assigned.• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.• Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.• Accepts all call schedule as directed.• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

Job Requirements
*Minimum Education*□ Graduate of a Program in Discipline, Bachelor’s Degree Required
□ Master’s degree preferred
*Required Skills*Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS) □ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) □ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) □ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) □ Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) □Other__________________________ □Other_________________________Must be NATA BOC Certified and possess or be in the process of acquiring licensing certification or registration From the state of Tennessee.
Licenses: Current and active Athletic Trainer license in the state of Tennessee.
