Overview

* Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
* Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
* Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
* Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
* Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
* Obtains information needed for new provider state, federal, and commercial payor applications and re- credential existing providers with insurance carriers.
* Assures that all coding is accurate and timely for each ambulatory clinic.
* Monitors and ensures appropriate billing of patient services (insurance and self-pay).
* Works with Accounting and Regional Director to ensure Revenue Cycle Guidelines are followed and all daily deposits and payments balance with hospital accounting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
* Works with billing software vendor to maintain billing dictionaries and add new providers and codes.
* Performance review includes recognition of active participation in briefs, debriefs, huddles, learning boards, and executive patient safety rounds.

*Minimum Education*

* Bachelor’s degree required
* Master’s degree preferred

*Required Skills*

* Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

*Minimum Work Experience*

* Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years experience managing multiple ambulatory clinics.
